
Sophie HAMEL
Sophie Hamel is a Los Angeles-based French writer. She's a PEN/Robert J. Dau nominee, a PEN Emerging Voices Workshop LA, and a MVICW poet & author award fellow. Her short stories have been published in the Summerset Review and the Plentitudes Journal. She is part of the Adroit Journal editorial staff. Her debut novel UNEARTHED is being reviewed by agents.
A former archaeologist with a Master’s degree of the ancient Mediterranean and Middle East from La Sorbonne and a postgraduate diploma from the Institute of Higher Studies in Art (IESA), Paris, she participated in numerous excavation campaigns in France and the Middle East, took a dive into the Indian contemporary art world while in Bangalore, before becoming a faculty manager for an online art school in Los Angeles, where she now lives with her husband and two children.
